Something interesting (or hilarious, if you wanna have it at that) happened today. I was preparing for work - took a shower etc. Had Biore porepack (this is not an advert, hokay) at the back of my head so I went ahead for it and happily slapped that white piece onto my nose.

It was a while later that I thought it's dry enough to peel it, and I did. To my horror, the adhesive tape just didn't wanna budge from my nose! OMG! I've got a lot of adhesive tape. Stuck on my nose!

In a panic (at the bedroom), I thought baby oil might removed it but, I was so wrong. Thank god for INTERNET, I went to my iPhone Safari and did a google - "how to remove adhesive tape on face skin".

Phew, ehow.com really saved my life from embarrassment. It recommended me to use alcohol. Thank god, I had spirit (another type of alcohol, i guess) tucked somewhere in my First Aid kit.

Don't know where I went wrong but perhaps it wasn't completely dry when I tried removing it. And another lesson learnt - do not put anything on your face that has expiry date and it was already expired (4 mths ago).

Adapted from the link: Old Spice commercial.

I must say that although it's from a borrowed idea, it still is creative. And best part is, they pulled it off pretty well.

So who says libraries/librarians are boring? :)

LOVE. I was browsing Multiply Customized Themes for a pretty nice theme for this humble blog. Pls, show some luv to glassarrow cuz she shared her theme for free!

It's been almost 6mths plus since I last wrote something here. Wanted a change, didn't wanna always write about myself, my family (of course I'm grateful and thankful for everything that I have now and my beautiful family) but it just got a bit monotonous at the end of it all. As of now, I have been twittering daily and not so daily stuff on twitter.

Still clueless on what direction I want to go for this blog right now, but just maybe bits & pieces of news, links, celeb gossip links (maybe, cuz I've been following - can sense my husband rolled his eyes at me) and something that's not too personal. Which means, I might not post any/all photos here anymore cuz I wanna have this blog accessed by public.

Well, that's more or less the direction I'm looking into. Hope to continue blogging cuz been doing it since 1998!

A new year is approaching and we are welcoming it with a bang - BBQ chalet by the pool. can't hardly wait, woopie!

With that aside, everyone has came out with their best & worst of 2009 - well mostly the celeb gossip websites have - and I would love to do the same - only thing, it applies to my life and not some other people's life…

My best of 2009 :
Shanghai
A few things came to mind when I tried to recall the best memories I had of 2009. first of all is of course the trip to Shanghai. I enjoyed planning it mostly and managed to visit those places I've suggested. We really enjoyed the halal food, the day trip to Suzhou and a 2d1n trip to Hangzhou.

Leanna's Birthday
Her very 1st birthday. To say that she is clueless about her birthday, is just so wrong. She definitely knew something was going on and she just don't want to take a nap. Ate her first cake and she enjoyed the company around her as well. I am surprised to see some of my ex-colleagues who made their way to our place despite the heavy rain. now, that was something, huh.

iPhone apps - worth mentioning
Tumblr - www.tumblr.com : the most simpliest weblog I've grown to love. they also have a free tumblr app in iPhone. how cool is that?
Flickr: they have a free app on iPhone/iPod touch! and I'm so loving it! Been posting photos taken on my 2.0 iPhone cam. which is not that baaadd.

Stephanie Myers & Her Twilight saga
Have read all the books of Twilight saga and am loving it. Am also following the movie so, ask me any characters and I can tell you the actor/actress. Or vice versa. Pls, just don't call me Twi-Moms or Twi-Hard or whatever term the media & paparazzis has coined. I don't collect memorabilia, I've only got the books.

Coldplay & No Doubt concert
3rd time watching Coldplay and 2nd time watching Gwen Stefani. would love to watch again in future. maybe get the standing tix or closer. if i'm still young enuff to rock the socks off. heh!

My Worst of 2009
iTunes
sucky sucky sucky. the worst program of the century! Jab said that was becuz I was using it on Windows. Might work better on Macbook, he said. But still, they need to put more people and research on their software development team for Windows. altho' they are rival companies but stilllllll.... ok, despite that I still love my iPhone.

Multiply
my usage at multiply has not erm, multiplied. heh corny. my pet peeves? business partners. I know you are expanding your biz, and I know that if you add me, you'll add my biz (if I have any) to yours. I have like 18 blogshops account waiting for me to accept.  Recently, I realised that I couldn't access my oldER photos. Let's give them chance - they said that they are relocating their servers as of right now while I'm typing. So hopefully it'll be better soon. Also, they don't have an iPhone app - maybe they should, cuz their mobile website is a bitch.

Fort Canning
as concert venue for F1 Rocks. blah! The entrance to the concert venue was a long long miserable walk. It wasn't from the side (where we used to enter for Womad a long time ago). It was from the top of the hill, right at the back. Thank god I was in my Alice crocs. I pitied those girls who wore high-heels. We worked up some sweat even before we entered! And the thing that sucked the most is No Doubt started at 12am. (On another note, maybe we should start going for Womad again)

Ok, that's all that I can remember so far. I couldn't find any more Worst of 2009 but that doesn't mean my life is all good. We went thru' the highs and lows of life but I've choosen to erase some bad memories and only preserved the good ones.

good morning, sunshine!

wanted to break the habit and TRY to write in the mornings. it's just blah to write at night when everybody's ready for bed and maybe already snoring zzZZzz in bed...

(except for me with my bloody iphone reading gossips from popsugar *roll eyes* i knoooow, jab rolled eyes too many times! no wonder ST Life section doesn't look delicious enough to read cuz i've read it and seen it.)

come to think of it, if I did write at night and pretend that it's morning, and then wait till morning to come and then post it... it doesn't mean anything to you rite?

so anyway, i'm in search for a dress or an outfit for DnD coming next week. was thinking of NOT getting a dress cuz geez how often do i wear dress to work? or perhaps i should start breaking the habit and wear dresses now eh...

We did aqiqah for the little one this year (cuz I missed the deadline last year). It was a fast one cuz I opted to donate all (meat) to the masjid. When we got the letter from the mosque last week, they gave us queue no. 2 - shows how early (and kiasu) I was in registering for aqiqah. hurhur.

It was the first time we did as a family (with Leanna in tow). Jab was erm, slightly traumatised by it cuz he was instructed to place his hand on any part of the sheep's body before they start the korban. He said he could feel it quivered and all.

Earlier on, the person in charged was asking me the name of our daughter. And I frozed for a little bit - do I say her chinese name too? or just skip the chinese name? Does it matter if he needs to know the name? Anyway, I just blurted out her name plus chinese name, and her name minus the chinese name. I bet he went ??? in his mind.

Leanna was just clueless of what's going on. She pointed to the body of the sheep before it was korban. She wasn't afraid - though I held her hand just in case. She's just one fearless toddler. I guess she'll only understand it when she gets older.

I was listening to Yael Naim's 2007album and I was very surprised of her cover version of Britney Spear's Toxic song. when i did a search, it seems like lots of other artists covered this song.

And seems like everybody is covering everybody's song... like Lady Gaga's Poker face. some didn't even sing it... they just SAY it.

if you have not watch it, you must watch it:-

(500) days of summer.

very quirky movie. it's about a relationship from being just friends to lovers to ex-lovers but was presented in a non-chronological format - a very popular format btw.

joseph gordon-levitt (i can NEVER get his name right, cuz I mixed up with John Lithgow - don't ask why!) is very adorable. reminds me of heath ledger but less edgy and less angsty. just sweet.

also, a movie which i was unaware of until yesterday:-

Push.

a sci-fi movie. very hilarious at some point, imo. starring Dakota Fanning, Chris Evans, Camilla Belle, Djimon Hounsou. you should watch it.

we skipped Milk (too terrified to the point of traumatised just at the first few minutes into the show - i'm sorry if this offends anyone else). i think we don't dare to venture into Brokeback mountain. gulp.

we also skipped Public Enemies. I know there's Christian Bale and Johnny Depp but but i think we were too tired to try listening and keep up with conversations.
